Career

I am a pretty experienced Software Developer and have been in the software industry since 1994.

I have both technical, and management experience.

In the technical arena, I am able to produce high quality software solutions for both desktop applications, and for web applications.

I have most recent experience in .NET, but I am comfortable in most of the mainstream programming languages and environments; Java, C/C++, Python, PHP, Javascript, Powershell, etc. etc.

My management experience has been interesting, ranging from team lead for a few different teams, to general manager of an international NGO, to managing small distributed teams on freelance projects.

I'm presently enjoying work in Beaverton Oregon, at TransCore; a transportation industry leader, where I am the technical lead for one of their flagship products.

I am not looking for another position right now, but I am always interested in knowing about positions, networking opportunities, and potential referrals.

Future

Like most people, I am fairly ambitious. I love what I do; I deeply enjoy the technical work. However I also want to make a big difference in the world, and I want influence, wealth, and broad capabilities to influence positive change; both in Social Justice, and in Business.

My dream is to be able to provide work for many people, to be a catalyst for upward mobility and positive change in third world countries, especially my native southern Africa, and to be able to give billions of dollars toward making the world a better place.
